Reminding many motorists of the hexagonal stickers on their vehicles, the TÜV SÜD blue octagon has been in use since the late 1990s for medical products.

The crest became the company’s official logo in 2001. Five years later, the Octagon got a three-dimensional look with the addition of a shadow.

The octagon is well-received around the world, too. Eight is considered a positive number in the West and a lucky number in China. Those who still have phones with alphanumeric keys will see the letters “TÜV” appear above the number “8”.
