Pressure equipment directive “Pressure equipment directive (PED – 97/23/EC, from July 2016 2014/68/EU)” was adopted in the European Union on May 29, 1997. The application of this directive includes the responsibilities of manufacturers, authorized experts for supervision and government institutions. The Pressure Equipment Directive is responsible for establishing a system of free flow of goods within the EU for the products it refers to. Any product, which complies with the requirements of the directive, gets freedom of movement in all EU member states.
If you manufacture pressure vessels, steam boilers, pipelines, heat exchangers, safety and other pressure equipment that you want to export to the EU, you must fully comply with the requirements of this directive and select a notified body.
TMS is your partner in interpreting the requirements of the guidelines and choosing the conformity assessment procedure that best suits your needs. We will advise you in which category your product must be classified and which conformity assessment modules you can choose. In this sense, with some modules of the Directive, you can choose to have your products checked by a notified body or by yourself within the framework of a quality management system whose implementation is monitored by an authorized body.
