In accordance with the current national regulations, before delivering steel for concrete reinforcement to the market of the Republic of Serbia, it is necessary for the manufacturer, its representative, importer or distributor to obtain a certificate of conformity prescribed by the Regulation on technical and other requirements for steel for concrete reinforcement (“Official Gazette RS” no. 35/15 and 44/16).

The regulation applies to concrete reinforcement steel that is installed in concrete structures, in the form of:

• bars, rolled wire, drawn wire and products obtained by unwinding coils;
• panels of factory-made machine-welded mesh;
• lattice supports

Conformity assessment work in accordance with this Regulation, at the request of the manufacturer or his representative, is carried out by a designated body.

TMS CEE conducts a conformity assessment procedure that includes: factory production control, initial type testing and ongoing supervision of factory production control and control testing. Conformity assessment activities are carried out in cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Belgrade, the Institute for Materials and Structures, the Materials Laboratory and the GOŠA Institute, the Institute for Testing and Control, Smederevska Palanka.

The certification procedure carried out by TMS CEE is described in TMS PR 05, General rules for certification of steel products for concrete reinforcement.

TMS CEE was appointed by the competent Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure to carry out conformity assessment of steel for concrete reinforcement (http://tehnis.privreda.gov.rs/infrastruktura-kvaliteta/Ocenjivanje-usaglasenosti/imenojanje-tela-za-ocenjivanje- compliance.html).
