STANDARD BRCGS Agents and Brokers

STANDARD BRCGS Agents and Brokers

Agents and brokers (non-manufacturing traders) who buy, sell or facilitate the trade of products represent a link in the process of supply and trade of products and influence the safety and quality standards of the supplier’s products, but are also responsible for maintaining efficiency in the traceability chain. This global standard for agents and brokers has been developed to provide a framework for managing product safety, quality and legality for non-manufacturing companies in the food and packaging industry.

The global standard for agents and brokers is unchanged

To Brokers: Companies that purchase or “take ownership” of products for resale to manufacturers, other brokers, retailers, or foodservice companies, but not directly to the consumer.

Agents or suppliers of non-manufacturing services: Companies that trade between manufacturers or brokers and their customers, but do not own or take ownership of the goods.

To importers/exporters: Companies that facilitate the movement of products across national borders, meeting legal and customs requirements. Importers and exporters can also be agents and/or brokers.

ADVANTAGES OF CERTIFICATION ACCORDING TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE BRCGS Agents and Brokers STANDARD

The Global Standard for Agents and Intermediaries is designed to promote best practice in product safety, quality and operational criteria needed to meet compliance and consumer protection obligations.
