Successfully held Agile development simulation and project management course (Lego4Scrum, BVG*)
On Tuesday, June 28, 2016, TMS Academy successfully organized a one-day course Simulation of Agile Development and Project Management (Lego4Scrum, BVG*). The lecturer on this course was Aleksandar Milošević.
The course consists of a theoretical and practical part, which makes this course dynamic and interesting. In the theoretical part, participants learn about agile development, while the practical part consists of two workshops: Lego4Scrum and Business Value Game.
The Lego4Scrum workshop is designed so that participants are divided into two teams and work towards a common goal – building a city from Lego blocks. The teams are not competitive, but the goal is to build the given project in several iterations under the supervision of the Scrum master. Seemingly fun, this workshop engages the participants in an agile process of thinking and allows them to connect the theoretical part they have heard to the previous part of the course.
BVG (Business Value Game) is a slightly more demanding workshop, which takes place after the second part of the theoretical lecture and requires the participants to use all the information they heard during the training. The participants are divided into 2 groups, where in two hours through seven iterations, they must complete the project with the lowest possible costs, while the focus is on meeting the requirements of all users and achieving profit maximization.
One of the participants shared his view of the course:
“A modern approach to project management shown through seemingly harmless and very realistic games. We applied the acquired knowledge the very next day. If you want to enter the world of agile project management, do not miss this seminar.”
Aleksandar Tanasković, Project manager, Dabset.
During the course, participants have the opportunity to discuss with the lecturer, who answers questions from their practices. Upon completion of the course, participants understand the framework for applying agile methodologies, as well as the value of applying agile principles to their own business.
