1913 - ELEVATOR CONTROL BECOME THE NORM
Electric elevators had been tested by the Inspection Association as early as 1907 (Baden) and 1908 (Bavaria). At first, it was left to the workers handling the boiler to determine how often, if at all, inspections would be carried out.
That changed in Baden, with a document issued by the state government in the summer of 1912 requiring inspections every two years for passenger elevators and every four years for freight elevators.
All engineers were appointed, by ministerial decree, as experts in the use of materials. For the first time, elevator inspections were carried out across the region in 1913, and the creation of a new office space.
