On November 17, 2015, in the premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade, a three-day meeting began, an event marking World Quality Day and European Quality Week in the Republic of Serbia. During this event, for the 21st time, the National Awards for Business Excellence Oscar Quality were awarded.

On the first day, the director of TMS CEE, Mr. Boško Gavović, gave a lecture on “Risk management today with reference to the energy sector” in the full hall of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

In his presentation, the director of TMS CEE gave a brief overview of the history of risk management, starting with organizations in the field of insurance that were the first to do business protecting people and organizations from the risk of losses, through the financial sector, and up to today’s practice of risk management in energy companies. It was pointed out that risk management in the energy sector is very important, taking into account the fact that this sector represents the most important real sector of the economy. It was established that there are no universal practices in energy companies, and therefore no “best” solution when it comes to risk management. Therefore, it is necessary for each company to build and maintain a system in accordance with its context, history, stakeholder requirements and resources, bearing in mind the mission and vision, company values, management and leadership practices and status of the management system.
