1938.- RESTRUCTURING AND HARMONIZATION

In March 1938, there was a major reorganization of the technical inspection in Germany. The facilities that existed until then (37 facilities) were transformed into 14 regional associations which are collectively called TÜV (Technische Überwachungsvereine: technical inspection association).

Individual laws replaced by unified legal laws. For companies that own facilities where inspection is mandatory, TÜV has made membership mandatory.

This has modernized and standardized the technical inspection process across the country. However, the price was high, and the association lost its independence, thus one of its key values.
